A person wanted on suspicion of murdering his wife and two daughters in Bedfordshire has been arrested in Johannesburg, police in South Africa have said.<\/p>\n

Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma was arrested in Kensington, Johannesburg, after \u2018an intensive operation involving the SAPS Interpol National Central Bureau, Crime Intelligence and the Organised Crime Investigation Unit\u2019, the South African Police Service said.<\/p>\n

Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, often known as Zandile; Natalie, 15; and Nala, five, were found dead in a \u00a31.3 million detached house in Carnoustie Drive, Great Denham, near Bedford, after concerns were raised on Monday that they’d not been seen for several days.<\/p>\n

Saps said the suspect, a British citizen of Zimbabwean heritage who goes by Mark, was traced and arrested \u2018through swift operational coordination and intelligence-led policing\u2019.<\/p>\n

The force said the 45-year-old is on account of appear in court on Monday.<\/p>\n

Work has begun to return Tshuma to the UK has already begun, Bedfordshire Police said.<\/p>\n

The force said: \u2018It’s believed he travelled to South Africa from Zimbabwe, after leaving the country on Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u2018He has been remanded in custody, and work is now underway to return him to the UK.\u2019<\/p>\n

Detective Inspector Lee Martin, the senior investigating officer, said: \u2018This has been a fast-moving investigation which has involved multiple law enforcement partners, including the National Crime Agency, Interpol and authorities in each Zimbabwe and South Africa.<\/p>\n

\u2018Due to the tireless work and dedication of all those involved, now we have managed to swiftly locate and arrest Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, who we would like to talk to in reference to this shocking and tragic case.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our investigation stays ongoing, and we\u2019ll be working closely with our counterparts in South Africa, in addition to the National Crime Agency and the Crown Prosecution Service, to bring him back to this country.<\/p>\n

\u2018Our thoughts remain very much with Zandile, Natalie and Nala, in addition to their family members, presently.\u2019<\/p>\n
