Robert Whittaker looked just like the much smaller man when he stepped into the Octagon with Nikita Krylov.<\/p>\n

The previous heavyweight enjoyed some early grappling success, but he was outmatched within the striking exchanges. <\/p>\n

Whittaker landed big shots often throughout the first two rounds and remained calm each time he hurt his opponent. <\/p>\n

Within the third frame, the Aussie fan favorite connected cleanly with a right hand that rocked Krylov\u2019s jaw. <\/p>\n

\u2018The Miner\u2019 reacted in a way that suggested he had suffered a serious injury before quitting on the spot.<\/p>\n

Krylov gave Whittaker a thumbs up before turning his back and waiting for the referee to stop the fight.<\/p>\n

Robert Whittaker defended his move to light heavyweight after online backlash ahead of UFC 329.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Reaper\u2019 has been mocked for being undersized ever since he announced his future is at 205lbs.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is the most effective I believe I\u2019ve felt during my profession, holistically. That is only a far more natural weight for me,\u201d Whittaker said during a recent\u00a0interview with UFC legend Demetrious Johnson.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last couple of camps, I actually have just not enjoyed due to the amount of sacrifice and skipping on food I\u2019ve needed to do. Especially within the last 4 or five weeks, after I\u2019d really need to get my weight all the way down to get into the weight-cut range for middleweight. It was just an excessive amount of, and I believe it began affecting me within the fights.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve done all the fitting things,\u201d Whittaker added. \u201cI\u2019m not going to light heavyweight as an out-of-shape middleweight. I\u2019m not only a middleweight who can eat more now. I\u2019ve been doing the fitting things. I\u2019ve leaned up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at a more natural weight range for myself. I\u2019m still walking around 220-225lbs, pretty lean. I\u2019m just heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n
