Brandy<\/strong> encouraged her fans to be \u201cgentler with each other\u201d in an empowering post about body positivity.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve learned that it takes only a moment to form an opinion about someone\u2019s appearance, and a lifetime to grasp what they\u2019ve lived through,\u201d the Cinderella<\/em> star, 47, wrote to her Instagram followers<\/a> on Saturday, July 11.\u201dSo may we grow to be gentler with each other. Not because everyone seems to be fragile, but because everyone seems to be carrying a story we cannot see.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her open letter began with a mirrored image on what \u201cbeauty\u201d actually means within the age of social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerhaps we\u2019ve been in search of it in all of the improper places. In youth. In perfection. In approval. In bodies that never change and faces that never age,\u201d she explained. \u201cBut life was never meant to go away us untouched. It shapes us. It humbles us. It refines us. Every season leaves its signature upon us. And perhaps that\u2019s where beauty has been all along. Not in escaping change, but in becoming through it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well-known activists have used social media as a tool to spread more messages of self-love to their fans. Mindy Kaling made a splash when she posted a series of photos of herself wearing different two-piece [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The \u201cBoy Is Mine\u201d singer \u2014 who shares daughter Sy\u2019rai<\/strong>, 24, with ex Robert \u201cBig Bert\u201d Smith<\/strong> \u2014 advised fans that \u201cthe world will at all times be tempted to measure people by what’s visible.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut love has never looked only on the surface. Love sees the entire person,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI\u2019ve stopped attempting to earn my reflection. I\u2019ve stopped asking the mirror to inform me who I’m. I do know who I’m. And that knowing has given me a freedom no opinion could ever take away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brandy wrapped up her post by expressing hope that her thoughtful words would go away an impression on potential body-shamers.<\/p>\n

\u201cBefore you discuss someone\u2019s body, before you discuss someone\u2019s face, before you choose who they’re by what you see, remember, you’re looking at someone\u2019s child. Someone\u2019s friend. Someone\u2019s dream. Someone\u2019s life. A soul,\u201d she concluded. \u201cAnd souls have at all times been more beautiful than surfaces.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brandy also shared a carousel of stunning photos of her wearing a wholly gold ensemble, including a netted coverup and hoop earrings.<\/p>\n

Her post got here several months after Brandy abruptly ended a performance in Chicago on October 18, 2025, during her coheadlining The Boy Is Mine<\/em> Tour with fellow singer Monica<\/strong>. She later spoke out to guarantee fans that she was feeling higher before returning to the stage the next night.<\/p>\n
