Simon Jordan ridiculed Tyson Fury\u2019s upcoming comeback fight by sarcastically describing his opponent, Mariusz Wach, as \u201c147 years old\u201d before dismissing the matchup as one other one-sided showcase.<\/p>\n

Jordan reacted to the announcement that Fury will face the 46-year-old Polish veteran on July 24 in Pattaya, Thailand, just at some point before Anthony Joshua returns to the ring.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, drum roll. After the show last week, we got the revelatory news that Tyson Fury goes to be fighting 147-year-old Mariusz Wach, a fellow that\u2019s been beaten by everybody,\u201d Jordan said to talkSPORTBoxing.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Simon continued the criticism by questioning each the opponent and the event itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not on television, which, by the best way, it probably couldn\u2019t be since it\u2019d need to have it under the Trade Descriptions Act posing as a fight,\u201d Jordan said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Former world champion Johnny Nelson acknowledged Fury was all the time going to receive criticism for selecting Wach but argued the competition is solely a tune-up before the proposed Anthony Joshua fight later this 12 months. Jordan wasn\u2019t convinced.<\/p>\n

After the panel noted that Wach has won only three of his last 10 fights and was knocked out in two rounds by Moses Itauma, Jordan branded the matchup \u201ca gimme\u201d <\/strong>and \u201ca gimmick,\u201d<\/strong> adding that it looked more like \u201ca sparring session\u201d than a meaningful heavyweight contest.<\/p>\n

Simon also took aim at the reason that Fury is donating the proceeds to a Thai orphanage, sarcastically asking why the cash couldn’t have gone to an orphanage in England as a substitute.<\/p>\n

Fury\u2019s bout with Wach is anticipated to function his final outing before a long-discussed clash with Joshua. But when Jordan\u2019s response is any indication, many fans see the alternative of opponent as the largest story, not the fight itself.<\/p>\n
