A British woman has died following considered one of Spain\u2019s worst wildfires, taking the confirmed death toll to 13 while more people remain missing. <\/p>\n

She was taken to the hospital after the forest fires devastated parts of Almeria, tearing through 17,300 acres in Los Gallardos since Friday. <\/p>\n

The girl, 93, had burns covering 20% of her body when she was admitted to hospital on Friday. <\/p>\n

She is alleged to have had pre-existing medical conditions, and was considered one of eight people taken to hospital, 4 of them with serious injuries, based on regional officials. <\/p>\n

Formal identification of the victims, none of whom have been identified yet, is being carried out using DNA from the families who reported family members missing within the deadly blaze, which ripped through the realm popular with tourists and expats. <\/p>\n

Many of the victims are Belgian and British, together with one Spaniard. <\/p>\n

Stays of 4 people regarded as British were found trapped in a right-wheel vehicle. <\/p>\n

The death toll is feared to rise as a minimum of 23 individuals are missing. <\/p>\n

Meanwhile, rescue teams trying to find any survivours discovered a British couple alive but in critical condition lying in a rugged ravine after becoming trapped by the flames during a hike. <\/p>\n

Spain\u2019s civil guard officers were about to show away when hearing distant cries for help. <\/p>\n

Sergeant Pedro Barr told broadcaster TVE: \u2018As you gain more experience, something inside you tells you, \u201cLook again, try yet another time\u201d.\u2019 <\/p>\n

He said they almost mistook the cries for an echo. <\/p>\n

The hikers had suffered burns to 40% of their bodies, and were taken to the hospital. <\/p>\n

A British man attempting to escape together with his cats is believed to have died while phoning his wife as flames surrounded his automobile. <\/p>\n

Penelope Howe, from Wolverhampton, told The Times <\/a>what happened to her friend\u2019s husband trapped within the tragedy. <\/p>\n

Howe said: \u2018She\u2019s in deep shock.\u00a0At one point, he needed to stop and she or he spoke to him on the phone. <\/p>\n

\u2018He had got the cats and was trapped within the automobile. They were speaking together for the previous few minutes. That was the way it ended.\u2019<\/p>\n
