A British tourist has died in Ibiza after failing to surface when coming down his hotel\u2019s water slide.<\/p>\n

The 64-year-old\u2019s relatives, including his wife and daughter \u2013 who were on the family holiday with him \u2013 are understood to have been watching on the time.<\/p>\n

Paramedics and other emergency medical responders arrived on the scene after he was spotted in trouble within the pool on the unnamed hotel in the favored resort of Cala Tarida on Ibiza\u2019s west coast.<\/p>\n

He was given CPR and treated with a defibrillator by hotel staff after they confirmed he had gone into cardiac arrest. Emergency responders then took over.<\/p>\n

But attempts to avoid wasting him were unsuccessful, and he was pronounced dead on the scene.<\/p>\n

A police investigation is now ongoing following the fatal incident at around 11.30am on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This morning, a spokesman for the Civil Guard confirmed: \u2018A British holidaymaker aged 64 has died following an incident at a hotel in Cala Tarida in Ibiza on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n

\u2018Officers are reporting to an area court.\u2019<\/p>\n

A source added: \u2018The post-mortem will help determine if this man suffered some type of health problem before he entered the water.<\/p>\n

\u2018He had entered the pool via a water slide. He was staying on the hotel with relatives, including his wife and a daughter.\u2019<\/p>\n

Within the last month, 4 children from the UK have drowned in pools in Spain, including a three-year-old who was taken to hospital after being found \u2018floating face-down\u2019 in her holiday pool in Majorca the previous evening.<\/p>\n

The little girl was revived by the poolside of the family\u2019s rented four-bed villa in Pollensa within the north of the island following the drama around 8pm on June 24.<\/p>\n

Her parents rescued her from the water before police and paramedics took over with CPR on the scene.<\/p>\n

She was still said to be in a \u2018very serious\u2019 condition at Son Espases Hospital within the Majorcan capital, Palma, the next morning, having been admitted with a really weak pulse.<\/p>\n

It was later sadly confirmed that the kid had died.<\/p>\n
