Jon Jones\u2019 UFC return teases not supported by coach Greg Jackson<\/h2>\n

After Dana White\u2019s comments about turning down a UFC Freedom 250 comeback, Jones publicly requested his UFC release.<\/p>\n

He also allegedly contacted Tyron Woodley\u2019s lawyer about potentially escaping his contract to pursue super-fights away from MMA\u2019s leading promotion.<\/p>\n

Most recently, Jones looked to have squashed the White beef and appears open to returning under the UFC banner.<\/p>\n

One man who hopes it doesn’t come to fruition is coach Greg Jackson.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the UFC 329 debut of his and Jones\u2019 pupil, Gable Steveson, Jackson told MMA Junkie<\/a> that he hopes \u2018Bones\u2019 sticks to coaching and doesn’t fight again given his body\u2019s condition.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope he doesn\u2019t (fight again),\u201d Jackson said. \u201cHe\u2019s already got his legacy done. It might be hard for anyone to argue he\u2019s not the most effective to ever do it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI might ride that legacy into the sunset. He\u2019s doing very well helping Gable out. He really cares. He\u2019s really doing an awesome job of coaching.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat may very well be his future, mentoring these young prospects up and coming, showing them the best way,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe actually could (fight again)\u2026 he\u2019s sharp as ever. Nevertheless it\u2019s such a grueling sport, and he really trained hard. So his hips are hurting. He wakes up in a variety of pain. It\u2019s not a straightforward thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n
