Sister Wives<\/em> star Maddie Brown<\/strong> is sharing her list of things her children \u201cwon’t ever be exposed to\u201d at home after growing up in a polygamist household.<\/p>\n

\u201cI knew at 13 years old that I didn\u2019t want the life I used to be living,\u201d Maddie, 30, confessed via an Instagram post<\/a> shared on Tuesday, July 14. \u201cI couldn\u2019t change my circumstances then, but I could resolve, with full certainty, what I might and wouldn\u2019t carry forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

Janelle Brown<\/strong> and ex-husband Kody Brown<\/strong>\u2019s eldest daughter noted that she made her non-negotiable rules for her children \u201clong before they were born\u201d and he or she\u2019s sticking to them.<\/p>\n

For starters, Maddie vowed her and husband Caleb Brush<\/strong>\u2019s kids would have \u201cno instability where there needs to be stability.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMaddie Brown is opening up about her boundaries with relations and why she has \u201cno contact with some\u201d of them \u2013 including her dad, Kody Brown. \u201cIt\u2019s due to stuff that has happened,\u201d Maddie, 29, shared on the Monday, November 11, episode of her \u201cThe Authentic Society\u201d podcast, later adding of her estranged father, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cNo fear where there needs to be safety. No secrets where there needs to be honesty. No chaos disguised as normal,\u201d Maddie wrote.<\/p>\n

The TLC personality admitted, \u201cIt takes a whole lot of intention to not repeat patterns. It\u2019s not natural. It\u2019s something I needed to learn, and something I even have to maintain selecting, especially on the hard days.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddie, who had three additional moms growing up in polygamy, noted that she\u2019s doing her part to stop the experiences she didn\u2019t like as a baby from continuing.<\/p>\n

\u201cNevertheless it ends with me. That part was decided an extended time ago, and I\u2019ve never once looked back on it,\u201d she concluded. \u201cWho else out there’s breaking patterns for his or her family?\u201d<\/p>\n

Maddie is considered one of dad Kody\u2019s 18 children from 4 different wives. TLC fans were introduced to her unconventional family in 2010 when Sister Wives<\/em> premiered.<\/p>\n

On the time, Kody, 57, was married to Meri Brown<\/strong>, Janelle, 57, and Christine Brown<\/strong>, and was courting Robyn Brown<\/strong>, who later became his fourth wife.<\/p>\n

Kody welcomed one child with Meri, 55, during their greater than 30-year marriage. He shares six children with each Janelle and Christine, 54. (Janelle and Kody\u2019s son Garrison<\/strong> died by suicide in March 2024 on the age of 25.)<\/p>\n

Kody legally divorced first wife Meri in 2014 to legally wed Robyn, 47, and adopt her three children from a previous marriage. Kody and Robyn later welcomed two kids of their very own, bringing his total to 18.<\/p>\n

In November 2021, Christine announced her split from Kody after greater than 20 years in a spiritual marriage. Janelle followed, confirming her separation from the patriarch in December 2022. Meri announced in January 2023 that she and Kody were now not a pair.<\/p>\n

As Kody\u2019s elder children have gotten married, lots of them have opted for monogamous relationships, including Maddie.<\/p>\n

Maddie married Caleb, 39, in June 2016. The couple have since welcomed 4 children: son Axel and daughters Evie, Joey and Emilia.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy childhood was chaotic in ways I\u2019ve spent my entire adult life making sense of and selecting to construct something completely different from,\u201d Maddie revealed in June, reflecting on her upbringing.<\/p>\n

Janelle\u2019s late mom, Sheryl Brown, and Kody\u2019s dad, William Winn Brown, were married for years before William\u2019s death in 2013, making the eventual [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She explained in an Instagram post<\/a> on the time that after getting married young, welcoming her eldest child at 21 and moving across the country when she was 23, she \u201cfound something I didn\u2019t grow up with\u201d and that was \u201cpeace.\u201d<\/p>\n
