Sean Strickland backtracked on telling his coach he couldn\u2019t see in one-sided Kamaru Usman loss<\/h2>\n

In his fifth UFC outing, Kamaru Usman was tasked with ending the three-fight win streak of current middleweight champion Sean Strickland.<\/p>\n

The 2 men met at UFC 210 in Buffalo, Latest York, with \u2018The Nigerian Nightmare\u2019 entering the bout as the favourite.<\/p>\n

Usman proved that the chances makers had made the fitting call by dominating Strickland in the primary round.<\/p>\n

He controlled the American along with his grappling and did significant damage around his opponent\u2019s left eye, earning him a 10-8 round on judge Dave Tirelli\u2019s scorecard.<\/p>\n

It was highlighted on commentary that Strickland wasn\u2019t hiding that he was having vision issues one bit, which only worsened when Usman caught him with an enormous looping right hand to drop him within the second.<\/p>\n

Following one other 10-8 round, this time on Jeff Mullen\u2019s card, Strickland clearly told his coach before the beginning of the third that he couldn\u2019t see out of his left eye.<\/p>\n

He modified his tune when the doctor approached him so as to prevent the fight from being stopped.<\/p>\n

Strickland said he could see out of the attention and when he was questioned on why he was squinting a lot, he replied, \u201cIt\u2019s swollen, sorry.\u201d<\/p>\n

One other clear round for Usman resulted in unanimous scorecards of 30-27, 30-26, and 30-26.<\/p>\n
