The Minnesota Wild and Quinn Hughes proceed to work on extension, and all quiet on the Dylan Larkin front<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Joe Smith of The Athletic<\/a><\/strong>: League sources said that the Minnesota Wild and Quinn Hughes\u2019 camp proceed to work on a contract extension, but a deal just isn’t imminent. It\u2019s a priority of the Wild, and it\u2019s not expected to pull into September. A deal might be for 3 years and it\u2019s projected to be within the $16 to $18 million range.<\/p>\n

Things have been quiet on Dylan Larkin front. The Wild made a suggestion, but it surely obviously wasn\u2019t enough. Nick Kypreos reported the Red Wings wanted Matt Boldy. Can\u2019t see the Wild wanting to maneuver Boldy.<\/p>\n

The Wild are likely done with free agency. Patrick Kane could be an option, if things don\u2019t work out with Chicago Blackhawks and Buffalo Sabres.<\/p>\n

Can the Winnipeg Jets and Buffalo Sabres work out a Connor Hellebuyck deal?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Murat Ates and Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic<\/strong><\/a>: Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has five years left on his contract at an $8.5 million cap hit.<\/p>\n

The Jets didn\u2019t just like the trade offer from the Carolina Hurricanes that included Alexander Nikishin and a first-round pick or the Florida Panthers offer that didn\u2019t include Anton Lundell. The Jets and the Buffalo Sabres got here close on the draft, however the Jets didn\u2019t want to offer up the No. 8 pick, which they chose Viggo Bjorck.<\/p>\n

The Sabres have just over $4 million in salary cap space, and haven\u2019t added much this offseason. Is there still a fit between the Jets and Sabres. Could a deal be worked out including Ukka-Pekka Luukkonen and Josh Norris, who now has trade protection?<\/p>\n

The Jets would likely need a goalie in Luukkonen or Alex Lyon to tandem with Stuart Skinner. A primary-round pick and a prospect like Konsta Helenius or Radim Mrtka. Landing considered one of Zach Benson and Josh Doan, each who’ve Winnipeg ties, could be a house run. Center Ryan McLeod could be a great goal, with Jack Quinn and Peyton Krebs having some appeal.<\/p>\n

The Sabres likely don\u2019t want to incorporate Benson, Doan, Noah \u00d6stlund, Helenius and Jiri Kulich. Giving up McLeod would hurt, but they’d be acquiring a top goalie. They\u2019re deep in young, right-handed defensemen, in order that they could part with Mrtka. Maxim Strbak and Adam Kleber are recent second-round picks. They could be okay with moving a 2027 first, as they made two first-round picks last month.<\/p>\n

The Jets are running out of options in the event that they need to move Hellebuyck. They might wait and see if one other team steps up later.<\/p>\n
