Diego Pacheco delivered the type of performance Matchroom Boxing hoped to see, breaking down veteran Immanuwel Aleem before forcing an Eleventh-round stoppage on Saturday night in front of his hometown fans.<\/p>\n

Pacheco (26-0, 19 KOs) retained his WBC Silver and WBO International super middleweight titles by stopping Aleem (22-5-3, 14 KOs) within the most important event at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Fighting for the primary time under recent trainer Buddy McGirt, the 25-year-old contender boxed patiently before increasing the pressure to secure the late stoppage.<\/p>\n

From the opening round, Pacheco made full use of his considerable height and reach advantage. The 6-foot-4 Los Angeles native established a stiff jab, kept Aleem at the tip of his punches, and mixed in body shots that made it difficult for the shorter challenger to work at close range.<\/p>\n

Aleem refused to provide ground through the opening rounds and tried to back Pacheco toward the ropes at any time when he had the possibility. Pacheco answered by pumping the jab into Aleem\u2019s face and chest, forcing him to reset before he could put together greater than a punch or two.<\/p>\n

By the sixth round, Aleem was spending more time attempting to get inside than he was throwing. Pacheco kept touching him with the jab before following with straight rights and hooks to the ribs. Because the rounds progressed, he began putting his punches along with greater frequency, steadily increasing the punishment without abandoning his disciplined approach.<\/p>\n

By the championship rounds, the fight had develop into increasingly one-sided. Pacheco sat down on his punches more often, driving hard shots to the body before snapping Aleem\u2019s head back with uppercuts and straight rights.<\/p>\n

The tip got here within the Eleventh round when Pacheco trapped Aleem along the ropes and hammered him with uppercuts and body shots until the referee stepped between them, ending the fight before more damage might be done.<\/p>\n

The victory provided a powerful first outing with Buddy McGirt in Pacheco\u2019s corner and strengthened his position among the many leading contenders within the super middleweight division.<\/p>\n
