Official FIFA Fan Festivals in each World Cup host cities are expected to attract hundreds for public watch parties. Bars and restaurants along Vancouver\u2019s Granville Street and in Toronto\u2019s Liberty Village are also preparing for giant crowds.<\/p>\n
Toronto hosted six matches and Vancouver seven in the course of the first men\u2019s World Cup staged across Canada, america and Mexico.<\/p>\n

The championship match, expected to attract a worldwide television audience of nearly two billion viewers, closes the primary 48-team men\u2019s World Cup and Canada\u2019s role as a number of soccer\u2019s biggest tournament.<\/p>\n
While the World Cup wraps up today, the ultimate cost of staging the tournament won\u2019t be known for months. In May, Canada\u2019s independent parliamentary budget officer estimated total hosting costs at about $1.066 billion, including $473 million in federal costs, projected costs of as much as $729 million in British Columbia and $380 million in Toronto.<\/p>\n<\/article>\n
