Paresh Rawal has claimed that the unique idea behind OMG 2<\/em> got here from him, adding that the film underwent significant changes after Akshay Kumar got here on board. Chatting with Vickey Lalwani, the veteran actor also alleged that he didn’t receive credit for the story or concept despite being closely involved in its early development.<\/p>\n Paresh Rawal claims OMG 2 was based on his original idea; says he walked away after script changes: \u201cThere was no need for a divine character\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Rawal said he first approached filmmaker Amit Rai with the thought after watching Road to Sangam<\/em>. He asserted, “I had approached Amit Rai, the director of Road to Sangam<\/em>, and asked him if he was planning one other film. I love him loads. I told him, ‘I actually have an idea. Let’s sit and write it.’ I told him I wasn’t a author, but I could contribute ideas and help discover where we were going unsuitable because I understand screenplay to some extent.”<\/p>\n He went on to disclose, “The story was a couple of boy who gets caught masturbating, and a video of the incident goes viral, making his life miserable. His father was a tourist guide on the Khajuraho temple. Amit suggested making him a part-time priest on the Mahakal Temple. We developed the script together and even brought sexologist Dr Prakash Kothari on board. We had several meetings because our intention was to make the film educational, entertaining and never vulgar. We were deeply involved in the method.”<\/p>\n Based on Rawal, the project was never conceived as a sequel to OMG<\/em> and didn’t feature a godly figure. He said, “Our important idea was to have a biker guiding the daddy, not God. In the primary OMG<\/em>, God appeared since the case was against God. But this film was a couple of father’s fight to get justice for his son. There was no need for a divine character. We wanted someone like Kader Khan’s character in Muqaddar Ka Sikandar<\/em>.”<\/p>\n He further revealed that he had initially considered Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan for the biker’s role: “I didn’t approach Akshay because people would have assumed it was OMG 2<\/em>, whereas that wasn’t the plan.”<\/p>\n Rawal said he later learnt that Akshay Kumar desired to do the film after the script reached him through producer Ashwin Varde. He continued, “I used to be under the impression that we were still figuring things out. We even had a gathering with Vipul Shah of Optimystix. In addition they asked about Akshay, and I said if I desired to make it with him, I might have approached him directly. Akshay and I were partners in OMG<\/em>. I didn’t need anyone to bridge the gap. Just a few days later, Amit Rai called and told me Akshay desired to do the film. The problem was that Amit had tentatively written ‘OMG 2’ on the script since the genre was similar.”<\/p>\n He added, “In considered one of our meetings, Ashwin Varde was present. That is after they decided they desired to do it with Akshay.”<\/p>\n Rawal said Akshay later requested him to be an element of the project, but he declined because he now not recognised the story: “I spoke to Akshay. He asked me to do the film. I told him, ‘No. This is not the film I had envisioned. There isn’t any role of God on this story.’ He tried to persuade me, but I had lived with the script from the start. I knew exactly what it was purported to be. That is why I walked away.”<\/p>\n The actor also claimed he didn’t receive any acknowledgement for his contribution to the unique concept: “The saddest part is that I wasn’t even given credit for the story or the concept. My name wasn’t mentioned anywhere.”<\/p>\n He further said, “Amit, Akshay, Ashwin, Ajay Devgn, Karan Johar and Salman Khan… all comprehend it was my idea and my story. Ajay and Salman probably said no due to subject. They thought it could grow to be controversial.
