Vice President JD Vance<\/strong> and his wife, Usha Vance<\/strong>, have expanded their family yet again with the birth of their fourth baby.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’re excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the child are blissful and healthy, and our children are overjoyed to satisfy their little brother,\u201d Vance, 41, and Usha, 40, announced via a joint statement shared via X<\/a> on Sunday, July 19.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incredible military doctors and staff members of Walter Reed Medical Center and the White House Medical Unit have been a blessing,\u201d the announcement continued. \u201cWe’re deeply thankful for all they’ve done for our family.\u201d<\/p>\n

JD and Usha have been married since June 2014. The couple previously welcomed son Ewan in June 2017, son Vivek in February 2020 and daughter Mirabel in December 2021.<\/p>\n

The vp and second lady announced in January that they were expecting their fourth baby.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tMany stars grew their families in 2026. Becca Kufrin, Justin Theroux, MLB player Freddie Freeman, TikTok star Allison Kuch and NFL star Baker Mayfield all welcomed little ones into their respective families in April, followed Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden\u00a0in May. That month also brought latest arrivals to Stephen Coletti, Josh Duhamel and Pat McAfee\u2018s [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,\u201d the pair said in a press release shared via Instagram. \u201cUsha and the child are doing well, and we’re all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued: \u201cDuring this exciting and hectic time, we’re particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who achieve this much to be sure that we will serve the country while having fun with a beautiful life with our kids.\u201d<\/p>\n

JD and Usha are the primary vice presidential couple to welcome a baby while in office since Schuyler Colfax<\/strong> \u2014 who served during Ulysses S. Grant\u2019s<\/strong> presidency \u2014 and his wife, Ellen Colfax<\/strong>, in 1870.<\/p>\n

Months before revealing their pregnancy news, JD and Usha faced split rumors when she was spotted without her wedding ring.<\/p>\n

Long before being chosen as President Donald Trump\u2019s 2024 running mate, JD developed a singular love story with Usha after they were each in law school. Their relationship, nonetheless, took on the highlight much more when [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201c[She is] a mother of three young children, who does plenty of dishes, gives plenty of baths and forgets her ring sometimes,\u201d a rep for Usha told People<\/em> in November 2025.<\/p>\n

The next month, JD insisted to NBC News, \u201cOur marriage is as strong because it\u2019s ever been,\u201d adding that he and Usha \u201cget a kick\u201d out of the speculation about their relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith anything in life, you are taking the great with the bad,\u201d he said in December 2025. \u201cYou accept that there are some sacrifices and there are some superb things that come together with it too.\u201d<\/p>\n

While JD admitted that navigating rumors about his marriage may very well be \u201ctough,\u201d he revealed that Usha also made light of the situation by joking about leaving her wedding ring behind before a public outing.<\/p>\n
