Dricus Du Plessis\u2019 coach has shut down Kamaru Usman\u2019s claim that he was poked in the attention during their UFC Oklahoma City clash.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This past Saturday, Dricus Du Plessis and Kamaru Usman clashed within the UFC Oklahoma City foremost event in only the promotion\u2019s third visit to the Sooner State.<\/p>\n

The previous middleweight champion bounced back from his title loss against Khamzat Chimaev with a dominant decision win over \u2018The Nigerian Nightmare\u2019.<\/p>\n

Despite \u2018Stillknocks\u2019 win, though, Usman had some complaints regarding one moment specifically, which has now been shut down by Du Plessis\u2019 head coach, Morne Visser.<\/p>\n

Du Plessis\u2019 coach shuts down \u2018nonsense\u2019 claim of an eye fixed poke<\/h2>\n

When the scorecards were being announced within the Octagon, the previous welterweight champion was extremely surprised to listen to that he had lost every round on one scorecard, and only picked up one round on the opposite two scorecards.<\/p>\n

In addition to his complaints regarding the scorecards, Usman complained that he was poked in the attention during an exchange within the second round, which resulted in him \u2018seeing double\u2019 for the remaining of the fight.<\/p>\n

Despite that, Du Plessis\u2019 head coach, Visser, has brushed off the 39-year-old\u2019s comments, claiming that they’re \u2018nonsense\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cListen, I have to be honest with you, I don\u2019t think I\u2019d be myself after being punched, kicked or kneed so again and again in the pinnacle,\u201d Visser told Submission Radio.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe never pushed once for the finish, not even once. You saw Kamaru complaining a couple of low blow and the thumb or the finger, it\u2019s all nonsense, Dricus could\u2019ve finished him there but he wasn\u2019t pushing, he was just respectful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the fight, Du Plessis recognized that he likely needs at the least yet one more win before he fights Sean Strickland for the title.<\/p>\n

The South African suggested that the champion defends his belt against Nassourdine Imavov next before establishing a possible trilogy between the 2.<\/p>\n

And in response to Du Plessis\u2019 performance, Imavov seemingly labeled it boring while shutting down the potential of being leapfrogged.<\/p>\n
