Two tourists have been stabbed near Greece\u2019s ancient Acropolis.<\/p>\n

A person and a girl, each Greek Americans, were attacked with a knife near the doorway of the Acropolis Museum in Athens, on Tuesday morning. <\/p>\n

The constructing lies on the foot of Acropolis hill, which is where the nearly 2,500-year-old Parthenon temple is positioned.<\/p>\n

The person suffered serious wounds to his arm while the lady suffered light injuries to her leg.<\/p>\n

Police arrested the attacker on the scene.\u00a0It\u2019s understood he was affected by psychological problems.<\/p>\n

Footage shown on Greek news outlets show what appears to be blood on the pavements.<\/p>\n

The Acropolis hill attracts thousands and thousands of tourists yearly.\u00a0In 2025, 4.6million people visited the positioning.<\/p>\n

While attacks in Greece are rare, in April, an 89-year-old man allegedly opened fire with a shotgun in a social security office and a courthouse within the centre of the capital.<\/p>\n

4 people were injured.<\/p>\n

There isn’t any warning against travelling to Greece in place for British holidaymakers.Nevertheless, earlier this month the Foreign Office updated its travel advice after \u2018several attacks\u2019.<\/p>\n

Current advice states terrorists are prone to attempt to perform attacks in Greece after several attacks involving explosives and automatic weapons against Greek institutions, shopping malls, banks, media offices, diplomatic premises, and the police.<\/p>\n

It comes after three improvised devices targeting Greek political figures killed one person and injured 4 others on July 1.<\/p>\n

There isn’t any indication the knife attack on the Acropolis is linked to any ongoing threat.<\/p>\n
