Nevertheless, the makers of Batwara 1947<\/em> managed to secure the certification well prematurely. BREAKING: Sunny Deol-starrer Batwara 1947 passed with an \u2018A\u2019 certificate by CBFC<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

As per the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) website, Batwara 1947<\/em> has been passed with an adults-only rating. The certificate was handed over to the makers of the film today, July 23. Further, the web site states that the film is 145.34 minutes long. In other words, Batwara 1947 <\/em>has a run time of two hours, 25 minutes and 34 seconds.<\/p>\n

It’s rare for a Sunny Deol film to receive an \u2018A\u2019 rating. Though his movies often feature motion and violence, they are frequently geared toward family audiences. Since 2000, only six of his movies have been rated \u2018A\u2019 \u2013 Champion<\/em> (2000), Farz<\/em> (2001), Karz: The Burden Of Truth<\/em> (2002), Jaani Dushman: Ek<\/em> Anokhi Kahani<\/em> (2002), Mohalla Assi<\/em> (2018) and Chup<\/em> (2022). Interestingly, there was a 16-year gap between 2002 and 2018 during which none of his movies received an \u2018A\u2019 certificate.<\/p>\n

Besides Sunny Deol, Batwara 1947<\/em> also stars Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal and Karan Deol. The film is very awaited because it reunites Sunny Deol and Rajkumar Santoshi and furthermore, it’s produced by Aamir Khan. Reportedly, Aamir will even be seen within the film in a supporting role.<\/p>\n

Batwara 1947<\/em> relies on the play, \u2018Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya\u2019, by Syed Asghar Wajahat. The Partition-era story revolves around a Muslim family which migrates from Lucknow to Lahore and is allotted a haveli vacated by a Hindu family. The old Hindu matriarch refuses to depart her ancestral home and he or she also strikes a rare bond with the Muslim immigrants.<\/p>\n
