Melissa Gilbert<\/strong> revealed why she made an effort not to deal with Netflix\u2019s recent adaptation of Little House on the Prairie<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sitting here at a farm in Pennsylvania attempting to enjoy my morning ritual. \u2026 I say attempting to enjoy my morning ritual but something is basically nagging at me this morning,\u201d Gilbert, 62, recently wrote via Substack<\/a>. \u201cI actually have remained silent for the reason that release of the new edition of Little House on the Prairie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gilbert said there have been \u201ctwo reasons\u201d she didn\u2019t speak out in regards to the project.<\/p>\n

\u201cTruthfully, I\u2019m afraid that I’m unable to be fully objective because I’m too deeply involved to weigh in without emotion,\u201d she noted. \u201cSecond, I actually don\u2019t think it’s my place to weigh in. The audience\u2019s reactions should speak for themselves. Critics and pundits be damned.\u201d<\/p>\n

Based on the beloved book series by Laura Ingalls Wilder<\/strong>, Little House on the Prairie<\/em> follows the Ingalls family, who survive a farm on Plum Creek near Walnut Grove, Minnesota, within the late 1800s.<\/p>\n

Gilbert starred as Laura on the unique series alongside Michael Landon, Karen Grassle <\/strong>and Melissa Sue Anderson<\/strong>, a long time before the Netflix version introduced Alice Halsey, Luke Bracey, Crosby Fitzgerald <\/strong>and Skywalker Hughes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Though she initially kept quiet, Gilbert wanted to hitch in on the conversation in regards to the latest tackle the childhood classic.<\/p>\n
