The primary woman to regain a UFC championship is uncertain about her return plans.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Rose Namajunas, a two-time women\u2019s strawweight champion on MMA\u2019s biggest stage, has been pursuing one other divisional title for the past three years.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

Quite a lot of losses have stalled her plan to challenge for Valentina Shevchenko\u2019s flyweight gold, and essentially the most recent had some scary physical consequences.<\/p>\n

Now, \u2018Thug Rose\u2019 is waiting for the brand new \u201cpurpose\u201d that she must warrant one other trip to the Octagon.<\/p>\n

Rose Namajunas still desires to fight within the UFC but needs a \u2018reason\u2019 to<\/h2>\n

Namajunas has yet to lose two fights consecutively at 125 kilos, but defeats to Manon Fiorot and Erin Blanchfield prevented her from breaking into title contention.<\/p>\n

\u2018Thug Rose\u2019 had the possibility to alter that this past January, but she once more fell short. Natalia Silva beat Namajunas at UFC 324, a fight that left the American requiring quick medical attention.<\/p>\n

Namajunas underwent surgery because of eye pokes from Silva during their fight in Las Vegas. The damage was so bad that the 34-year-old needed to have tubes in her eyes for 3 months.<\/p>\n

The previous strawweight queen is now able to stay up for a fighting return. But during a recent appearance on the Weighing In<\/a><\/em> podcast, Namajunas said she\u2019s awaiting a \u201creason\u201d to compete, having once more slipped farther from the flyweight title.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s type of why I\u2019ve been sitting out for some time because I\u2019m attempting to like rediscover, \u2018Okay, what am I doing now?\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cSimply to be fairly transparent\u2026 the last three losses that I had\u2026 those three fights, just like the last one, I used to be told that I might get a title shot with a win. Same thing with the Manon fight, I needed to win that fight with a purpose to get the title shot. Erin Blachfield, I\u2019m pretty sure it was the identical thing.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, it\u2019s like, I got here up short in all three of those,\u201d she continued. \u201cAnd it\u2019s like, okay, well, I\u2019m at a degree in my life where I\u2019m excited about like family stuff and all these items and next steps, future things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do wish to compete and I still wish to fight again, but I need to make sure that that like after I\u2019m stepping into there I\u2019m like going for a purpose and a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many fans have been calling for Namajunas to drop back all the way down to strawweight following Mackenzie Dern\u2019s crowning.<\/p>\n

But \u2018Thug Rose\u2019 continues to indicate no signs of plotting a pursuit of a 3rd title reign in that division.<\/p>\n
