The Nashville Predators<\/a> have overhauled not only their management staff, but their roster too. During the last couple of seasons under former GM Barry Trotz, the Predators spent a whole lot of money on players like Jonathan Marchessault<\/a>, Steven Stamkos<\/a>, and Brady Skjei<\/a>. Nevertheless, Nashville didn’t see any success.<\/p>\n

That’s the reason change was needed. It felt like Trotz\u2019s \u201cBig Three\u201d or \u201cThree Aces within the Hole\u201d had been within the rumour mill ever since they got to Nashville. Not to say the Predators\u2019 top center, Ryan O\u2019Reilly<\/a>, appeared to at all times be mentioned once the trade deadline got here around.<\/p>\n

Nothing\u2019s coming out of 501 Broadway. We\u2019re not hearing a single rumor, a single word. But Jim, that tells me that something is perhaps percolating. What\u2019s your feeling? What are your thoughts? What\u2019s your vibe? And what you\u2019ve been picking up on the market across the grapevine, across the league, concerning the Predators?\u201d<\/p>\n

Jim Biringer: \u201cYeah, well, let\u2019s start off. Let\u2019s backtrack just a little bit. Last time I used to be on the show, we talked about how Nashville was going to have an lively offseason, and so they did. You were bringing Chris MacFarland. He gets a pair of men he knows in Jack Drury<\/a> and Ross Colton<\/a>. And the large storyline here throughout Nashville has to get younger, got to get deeper, especially down the center. You usher in a pair centers, and then you definitely go get Mavrik Bourque<\/a> from Dallas and Ilya Lyubushkin<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now, word on the road was that that trade was orchestrated because there was a possible offer sheet coming from the Nashville Predators to Mavrik Bourque, in order that form of facilitated that trade. And I still think they\u2019re not done with something. I still think they\u2019re going to reshape their roster just a little bit more because they got just a little younger, and I do know Chris MacFarland talked about not giving out handouts.<\/p>\n

He wants the young players to earn a spot, and I feel some guys are going to try this. But I still keep my eye on a few of those veterans, a man like Jonathan Marchessault. So I almost wonder in the event that they\u2019re attempting to, like, quietly see in the event that they can get out of that deal and check out to maneuver some players along, but again, he said the veterans are going to dictate how this team goes to go.<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: Minnesota Wild, Winnipeg Jets, and the Nashville Predators<\/a><\/p>\n

But I still think in the event that they can facilitate something and move that cash, that is perhaps helpful for this team. But again, it\u2019s been quiet around Nashville, and that\u2019s a great thing since the last couple of years, all we heard was just name after name after name coming out. That\u2019s not how you need to do business within the National Hockey League.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marchessault has been a reputation that has been on the block dating back to last season. He’s entering 12 months three of a five-year contract at $5.5 million. While he does have a no-movement clause, something feels off, and he has not been in a position to settle into his latest surroundings. With the cap going up, $5.5 million is just not bad for a player who consistently put the puck in the online.<\/p>\n

It is going to be interesting to see what MacFarland and the Nashville Predators do with him and others on the roster because the 2026 offseason continues.<\/p>\n
