Renato Moicano vs Brian Ortega reportedly within the works for UFC 331 in September<\/h2>\n

Per a report from Brazilian journalist Leo Guimaraes, the return of former lightweight title challenger Renato Moicano against Brian Ortega in a re-arranged fight can be within the works for UFC 331.<\/p>\n

In a post on X<\/a>, Guimaraes wrote that the matchup is in \u201cadvanced negotiations\u201d to happen on the numbered event in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Moicano will look to maintain up his momentum after submitting Chris Duncan with a face crank at UFC Vegas 115 this past April.<\/p>\n

That bout was put together after the Brazilian\u2019s scheduled battle against Ortega at UFC 326 in March fell through.<\/p>\n

The result marked a return to winning ways after consecutive defeats for the No. 7-ranked lightweight contender. Moicano had lost to Islam Makhachev in a late-notice title fight and Beneil Dariush in 2025.<\/p>\n

Ortega, meanwhile, was set to make his lightweight debut against Moicano earlier this 12 months after 4 losses in his last five fights at 145 kilos.<\/p>\n
