TJ Dillashaw thinks \u2018The Nigerian Nightmare\u2019 needs to vary things behind the scenes.<\/strong><\/p>\n Kamaru Usman was unable to secure his first winning streak in 4 years at UFC Oklahoma City last Saturday.<\/p>\n Within the important event contained in the Paycom Center, Usman was convincingly beaten by Dricus du Plessis across five rounds, as the previous UFC middleweight champion returned to winning ways.<\/p>\n Retirement appears to be an option for the welterweight legend, and one man who has experience hanging up the gloves knows what Usman must do before making a call on his future.<\/p>\n While Usman is within the welterweight GOAT conversation, TJ Dillashaw enjoyed a profession at 135 kilos that has him talked about among the many all-time bantamweight greats.<\/p>\n The 40-year-old has been away from the Octagon for 4 years, after his final title fight led to disaster. Dillashaw retired from MMA after a recurring shoulder injury quickly ended his bid to dethrone Aljamain Sterling in 2022.<\/p>\n Speaking as a fighter who has made the choice to call it quits, Dillashaw sent Usman some advice while reacting to the UFC Oklahoma City important event on the Jaxxon Podcast<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI hate to see it, but Usman looked slow,\u201d Dillashaw said. \u201cHis response times weren\u2019t there\u2026 I don\u2019t think he has that very same animal that he used to have.<\/p>\n \u201cHe needs to place himself within the gym to where he\u2019s going to have these young, hungry killers coming after him. He\u2019s training with (Trevor) Wittman and Wittman\u2019s great. He\u2019s up there hitting mitts and performing some things to make himself feel good.<\/p>\n \u201cI believe that you must put yourself in deep waters, go right into a gym where there\u2019s a whole lot of guys which are going to place it on you, and see in the event you\u2019ve still got it,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n For the primary time, \u2018The Nigerian Nightmare\u2019 has admitted that his profession might be over after the July 18 event.<\/p>\n During his podcast with Henry Cejudo, Usman pointed to retirement as an option by saying he needs to evaluate whether it\u2019s \u201cvalue continuing to do that.\u201d<\/p>\nWhere does Kamaru Usman go from here?<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
