Things haven’t gone to plan for Tyson Pedro since he selected a mixed martial arts comeback.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Australian light heavyweight was once considered a promising prospect within the UFC, after starting his profession contained in the Octagon by submitting Khalil Rountree Jr. and knocking out Paul Craig. <\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

A torn ACL against Mauricio Rua in 2018 stalled Pedro\u2019s rise, and he has been unable to live as much as his potential since then.<\/p>\n

The most recent setback got here at Saturday\u2019s PFL event in Washington, DC, where the 34-year-old\u2019s decision to finish a short-lived stint in retirement was punished by Rafael Xavier.<\/p>\n

Tyson Pedro has lost 4 of his last 5 fights within the PFL and UFC after suffering buzzer-beating knockout <\/h2>\n

A loss to Vitor Petrino in 2024 marked Pedro\u2019s final outing within the UFC, and he shocked many fans by announcing his retirement after that defeat.<\/p>\n

A boxing transition followed, with Pedro knocking out a 15-0 prospect on his debut before winning inaugural\u00a0WBC Silver\u00a0International\u00a0bridgerweight\u00a0title in February 2025.<\/p>\n

Despite his success within the ring, the Latest South Wales native committed to an MMA comeback and put pen to paper on a take care of the Skilled Fighters League.<\/p>\n

That move has not aged well up to now, with the ex-UFC star falling short in each of his outings within the organization.<\/p>\n

After Pedro lost his MMA return fight via unanimous decision against Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov this past April, he fell to 0-2 within the PFL without the judges\u2019 input on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Before Thad Jean survived a scare within the PFL Washington DC important event, Pedro was knocked out by Brazil\u2019s Xavier with one second remaining in round one.<\/p>\n

It stays to be seen what is going to come next for Pedro, but a second straight defeat since heading back to MMA this yr may persuade him to make a fast return to retirement.<\/p>\n

One other boxing stint may be on the cards, given the success that the Australian fighter had in the game soon after his MMA departure.<\/p>\n
