Jake Paul questioned Dana White and Zuffa Boxing\u2019s position on the game\u2019s sanctioning bodies after White confirmed his fighters will have the option to pursue the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles on a \u201ccase-by-case basis.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

White made the comments following Saturday night\u2019s Zuffa Boxing 09 event, explaining that championship opportunities will rely upon what individual fighters want to perform.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a case by case basis, attempting to determine what the fighters want and what their goals are, we\u2019ll attempt to determine the right way to make those fights occur,\u201d White said in the course of the post-fight press conference.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Paul contrasted those remarks with the criticism White and other UFC executives have directed at boxing\u2019s sanctioning bodies over time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey went from shitting on the entire boxing sanctioning bodies and the way they should eliminate them for the nice of boxing to now this,\u201d Paul posted on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cTruth is we want to further align promoters and the sanctioning bodies to create the largest opportunities for boxers. That needs to be the goal.<\/p>\n

\u201cMore transparency, more collaboration and more big fights.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

White previously promoted the thought of moving away from boxing\u2019s traditional championship structure when Zuffa Boxing was launched. His latest comments suggest a more flexible approach, particularly if pursuing certainly one of the 4 recognized world titles helps secure the fights a boxer wants.<\/p>\n

The policy leaves room for Zuffa\u2019s own championship plans while avoiding unnecessary restrictions on its roster. It also reflects the sensible reality that lots of boxing\u2019s leading fighters still measure success by winning certainly one of the established world titles, making cooperation with the sanctioning bodies difficult to avoid if Zuffa intends to deliver the marquee fights fans want most.<\/p>\n
