One-time UFC title challenger Anthony Smith has been arrested in Nebraska charged with three felonies.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former light-heavyweight contender Smith retired from the UFC last 12 months, and has found work ever since on the promotion\u2019s broadcasts. He also returned to motion in a bare-knuckle MMA bout with Chase Sherman on Gamebred FC earlier this 12 months which he won by submission in the primary round.<\/p>\n

In accordance with county arrest records, Smith was dropped at Sarpy County Jail on Monday night and stays in custody on the time of writing on Tuesday night. Details of the incident that led to his arrest usually are not available.<\/p>\n

Anthony Smith arrested in Nebraska<\/h2>\n

On Monday night, the day after his thirty eighth birthday, Anthony Smith was arrested in his adopted home state of Nebraska. He’s facing charges of domestic violence causing serious bodily injury, terroristic threats and false imprisonment and stays in prison on the time of writing.<\/p>\n

The previous fighter competed for 17 years as knowledgeable before hanging up his gloves last 12 months at UFC Kansas City. He fought for the light-heavyweight title in March of 2019 at UFC 235, a fight through which he was hit with an illegal knee that threatened to see Jon Jones disqualified had Smith stayed down.<\/p>\n

From there, he continued to compete for years until eventually retiring with a record of 37-22. He now works on the UFC broadcast and has a YouTube channel where he covers the game and discusses problems with the day.<\/p>\n
