Theater actor Patrick Clanton<\/strong> is speaking candidly about what he thought of Boy George<\/strong>\u2018s performance in \u201cMoulin Rouge! The Musical.\u201d In a social media post, the previous bluntly stated he was ashamed to have shared the stage with the Culture Club singer. Clanton\u2019s post got here amid criticism of Boy George\u2019s recently released pro-Israel song. <\/p>\n On July 28, theater performer Patrick Clanton took to Instagram Stories to share his real feelings about Boy George\u2019s Broadway performance.<\/p>\n Clanton shared an article concerning the singer\u2019s recent song, \u201cWe Will Dance Again,\u201d which is facing backlash over its pro-Israel message. \u201c, I used to defend his performance in our show, but f-ck it,\u201d the actor wrote, adding, \u201cHe was a terrible performer and I used to be embarrassed to be within the show with him. Boy, Bye!\u201d<\/p>\n In one other Instagram Stories post, Clanton shared that he all the time said Boy George was \u201cvery nice\u201d each time he was asked about working with him. \u201cBut as Sondheim taught us, \u2018Nice is different than good,’\u201d he added, referring to a line Stephen Sondheim wrote within the song \u201cI Know Things Now\u201d from the musical \u201cInto the Woods.\u201d<\/p>\n Boy George, born George Alan O\u2019Dowd, gained fame within the \u201980s because the lead singer of Culture Club, popularizing hits comparable to \u201cKarma Chameleon\u201d and \u201cDo You Really Wish to Hurt Me.\u201d He made his Broadway debut in 2003, portraying Leigh Bowery within the musical he co-created, \u201cTaboo.\u201d<\/p>\n Boy George returned to Broadway in 2024 as cabaret host Harold Zidler in \u201cMoulin Rouge!
