Capable of return to the sector by the tip season, Melifonwu was capable of put a powerful finish on his rookie campaign in his final three starts.<\/p>\nAs injuries continued to hamper him, the Lions slow-played Melifonwu in his sophomore season, but he found his way back to a much bigger role in Yr 3. Playing in all 17 games for the primary time in his profession, Melifonwu lit up the stat sheet, logging profession highs in interceptions (2), passes defensed (8), sacks (3.0), tackles for loss (4), and quarterback hits (5). Melifonwu\u2019s injury woes returned in the ultimate 12 months of his rookie deal, holding him out of the primary 14 games of the season, but he began the ultimate three games of the season before hitting the free agent market.<\/p>\n
