Chelsea Green is opening up in regards to the frightening health battle that left her coping with PTSD after waking up during heart surgery, revealing that the emotional aftermath of the procedure was even tougher than she expected.<\/p>\n

Speaking with TMZ\u2019s<\/em> \u201cContained in the Ring\u201d podcast, the WWE Superstar reflected on her long struggle with supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), a heart condition that causes sudden episodes of an abnormally fast heartbeat. While Green says she\u2019s now feeling higher than ever and has returned to competing full-time, she admitted that the surgery to correct the condition left lasting emotional scars.<\/p>\n

For years, Green struggled to get a definitive diagnosis because doctors were never capable of capture certainly one of her episodes while she was attached to an EKG. That finally modified during WrestleMania week while she was signing autographs at WWE World, allowing doctors to substantiate the condition and move forward with treatment.<\/p>\n

Before the surgery, Green said certainly one of her biggest concerns was suffering an SVT episode during a WWE match in front of hundreds of fans. She said,<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was the fear. I can’t be within the ring in front of 10 or 20,000 people and go into tachycardia and still finish a match. The chance of death is clearly huge.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I got here out of it, I had like weird PTSD of being in that surgery and being woken up while still on the table and having them still operate.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cFor the last hour of the surgery or with some people possibly the last 20 minutes, they wake you up. They strap you down, they wake you up, you\u2019ve got all the pieces still going through your veins up into your heart, they usually flush your IV with a drugs that makes your heart speed up. In order that exact feeling that I might get at the peak of my SVT is what I felt immediately.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI didn’t know I needed to get up on the table and like go be operated on still. That\u2019s very traumatizing.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe waking up in surgery traumatized me greater than I believed it will and greater than I had expected it to. And in order that was just something like I needed to speak through and mentally recover from that because there\u2019s loads of nightmares that I even have about it. Now we\u2019re a pair months out. I\u2019ve spoken about it. I\u2019m within the ring consistently every Friday night on Smackdown. I feel good. I feel higher than I ever did before. I\u2019m not getting the tachycardia attacks the way in which I used to. So it\u2019s a relief.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
