Tim Bradley isn\u2019t abandoning Lamont Roach Jr. just yet, however the Hall of Famer admits his confidence has slipped after taking a better take a look at William Zepeda\u2019s benefits ahead of Friday\u2019s vacant WBC lightweight title fight in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Bradley initially leaned toward Roach before taking a deeper take a look at the matchup. Now, he now not sounds convinced the previous WBA super featherweight champion can keep Zepeda\u2019s relentless attack under control.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said Roach, but I\u2019m not confident in my pick in any respect,\u201d Bradley said on his Into the Storm show.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Bradley\u2019s biggest concern is volume. Roach often fights selectively on offense, while Zepeda throws nearly twice as many punches. He questioned whether judges will reward precision over constant activity if Zepeda controls the pace from the opening bell.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou bought one guy that\u2019s very choosy and the opposite guy, he don\u2019t give a rattling. He\u2019s just letting his hands go,\u201d Bradley said. \u201cWherever they land, wherever they fall, he in your grill all night.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Roach\u2019s lone defeat also caught Bradley\u2019s attention. Southpaw Jamel Herring used his size and work rate to earn a unanimous decision, and Bradley sees similarities with what Zepeda brings to the ring.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one loss on his resume [came] to a southpaw,\u201d Bradley said. \u201cHerring outworked him.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

That comparison doesn’t guarantee history repeats itself. Roach stays one in all the game\u2019s sharpest technicians and has shown he can frustrate aggressive opponents. His defense gives him a legitimate path to victory if he can disrupt Zepeda\u2019s rhythm.<\/p>\n

The true query is whether or not Roach can construct enough of a lead on the scorecards before Zepeda\u2019s pressure begins to pile up.<\/p>\n
