Former UFC fighter Anthony Smith was reportedly arrested on multiple felony charges. As per a recent report from TMZ, the 38-year-old Smith was arrested within the state of Nebraska on three felony charges.<\/p>\n

TMZ further noted that Smith was facing charges for terroristic threats, false imprisonment [first degree], and domestic violence causing serious bodily injury. MMA Fighting later confirmed that Smith remained in custody on the Sarpy County Jail. A bond hearing was set for Wednesday, Jul. 29, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. on the Sarpy County Correctional Center.<\/p>\n

Now, one other huge update<\/a> has emerged on Smith’s arrest and the felony charges. On Wednesday, Jul. 29, 2026, MMA Junkie reported a press release received from the Sarpy County (Neb.) Attorney’s Office. It noted that following Smith’s initial hearing in front of a judge, he was granted a $500,000 bond with the condition that he’d keep away from his wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cSmith is accused of threatening to kill his wife if she didn’t go home with him following an altercation at a bar in Gretna, Neb., after which he grabbed her and pushed her into the vehicle,\u201d as per information from the attorney’s office. The attorney’s office also claimed that investigators determined Smith attempted to hit his wife with the automobile on several occasions as she fled during their drive. Nonetheless, she managed to maneuver aside and escape injury. A warrant was issued, and Smith later turned himself in.<\/p>\n

Smith was last energetic in Apr. 2026 for Jorge Masvidal\u2019s Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA 9, where he scored a win over Chase Sherman via submission. Smith is a former UFC light heavyweight title challenger. He retired from fighting last 12 months at UFC Kansas City, when he lost by knockout to Zhang Mingyang.
