The Nashville Predators have a brand new general manager in Chris MacFarland. And he didn’t waste any time attending to work on his recent team. This summer, he made a slew of moves, including an intriguing trade with the Dallas Stars for young forward Mavrik Bourque.<\/p>\n

Bourque involves Nashville with somewhat hype behind him. The Predators recently signed him to an enormous contract extension. And he’s coming off a 20-goal season with the Stars. The long run is definitely vibrant, but MacFarland is not seeking to add more<\/a> to his plate than crucial.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel where he can get to shall be as much as him, but we feel he doesn\u2019t need to be anything aside from what he\u2019s been,\u201d MacFarland said, via NHL.com, when asked about Bourque’s potential. \u201cHe was a 20-goal guy last yr. If he can just are available in and replicate that and be a part of that younger core, that may excite us, whether that\u2019s second-line center or middle-six winger or whatever. He\u2019s going to get every opportunity to excel in the midst of the ice, that\u2019s of course.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Predators acquired Bourque and Ilya Lyubushkin from the Stars on July 1. Nashville is hoping Bourque may also help them contend in a somewhat weak Western Conference. They nearly made the postseason last yr, but fell wanting clinching a Wild Card spot.<\/p>\n

MacFarland has found considerable success, including a Stanley Cup win as GM of the Colorado Avalanche in 2020. Nashville hired him specifically to bring a Cup to Nashville. If it should occur, Boruque shall be looked upon as a key piece to the puzzle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
