MANILA, Philippines\u2014Meralco guard Chris Newsome knows the Bolts can\u2019t afford to dwell on one other setback within the 2026 PBA Governors\u2019 Cup.<\/p>\n

The veteran guard stressed the importance of moving on quickly after the Bolts fell to Barangay Ginebra, 84-75, at Mall of Asia Arena on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe got to have short-term memory. It\u2019s tough if you lose a game like that. We didn\u2019t have momentum, we didn\u2019t shoot well, it was certainly one of those nights that you should try to forget quickly,\u201d he told the Inquirer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith a game on Sunday, that\u2019s exactly what we’ve to do. We’ve to search out a technique to erase this one.\u201d<\/p>\n

Fiddling with a depleted lineup, the Bolts trailed from start to complete after falling behind, 18-10, at the top of the primary quarter and never matched the Gin Kings\u2019 intensity.<\/p>\n

With a 2-3 card and an extended break looming, Newsome hopes Meralco quickly shifts its focus to Sunday\u2019s matchup against a surging Rain or Shine squad at Araneta Coliseum.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve to remain positive within the things that we do. We’ve to proceed to trust what we do even when it didn\u2019t show up today,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThings aren\u2019t gonna go your way on a regular basis but we’ve to remain strong and keep pushing forward.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
