It seems\u00a0that\u00a0Varun Tej finally has a blockbuster at his fingertips! No less than that’s what the trailer of his upcoming film, Korean Kanakaraju, hints at! The teaser of the film released some time back showed how Varun Tej plays an area Telugu boy who gets\u00a0posses\u00a0by a Korean ghost. The trailer offers a clearer glimpse of the film and what the audience can expect.<\/p>\n
The trailer, which is sort of 3 minutes long, opens with a\u00a0pandit, surrounded by candles rather than the same old havan arrange, reciting mantras.\u00a0Presumably, everyone seems to be convinced that Varun Tej\u2019s character has been possessed by a ghost. The tantric ritual is seen as an try to help Varun Tej rid himself of the ghost in his body. But, we further see that the ghost is in no mood to depart our local boy Kanagaraju.<\/p>\n
The trailer of Korean Kanagaraju gives us a glimpse of the havoc brought on by this ghost that possesses Varun Tej\u2019s character.\u00a0There’s fear in\u00a0the town, and nobody understands what he speaks once he’s possessed. Many are unable to even recognise what language he’s speaking, and a few wonder if it\u2019s Malayalam from South India.<\/p>\n
But how is an area boy connected to South Korea? Is he a BTS fan or got way too engrossed in a K-Drama? Well, not likely. The trailer shows how Kanaraju is obsessed with a lady who works for the South Korean automotive company and has a colleague from the South Asian country. That is the one connection we see our protagonists have with Korea.<\/p>\n
Varun Tej aces each roles as an area Telugu boy and a Korean gangster chief. We see him change his body language and facial expressions each time he gets possessed. The trailer guarantees fun riot with elements of horror and fantasy drama. Kanagaraju\u2019s two worlds stand in contrast in color. While the local Telugu avatar\u00a0of his loves wearing loud colors, the Korean gangster avatar is more of dark colors and a sombre\u00a0mood. This contrast helps\u00a0with switching\u00a0the film\u2019s genre. But one\u00a0thing\u2019s\u00a0promised: fun riot, especially with actor Satya\u2019s one-liners.<\/p>\n
Leading lady Ritika Nayak brings within the glam quotient and\u00a0would\u00a0be interesting to see what role she plays when Telugu and Korean cultures merge. Thaman S\u2019s music also hits the proper note, elevating several moments within the trailer.<\/p>\n
Directed by Merlapaka Gandhi, the film might be released in theatres on August 7. Varun Tej\u2019s last film, Matka King, did not impress on the box office. Now, all eyes are on Korean Kanakaraju and whether the actor can revive his box-office performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
