What could Matvei Michkov get on his next contract? The Flyers are banking cap space just in case<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Anthony Di Marco of Day by day Faceoff<\/strong><\/a>: (mailbag) The Philadelphia Flyers GM Danny Briere has a history of doing bridge deals with players coming out of their entry-level deals \u2013 Tyson Foerster<\/a> and Owen Tippett<\/a>. Matvei Michkov<\/a> has a better ceiling than each those players, but he\u2019s coming off a sophomore slump.\u00a0 If he bounces back and is within the 70 to a degree a game range, he could get near $10 million on either a bridge or long-term deal.<\/p>\n

The Flyers are likely done for the offseason. Now, that doesn\u2019t mean that Briere isn\u2019t done in search of ways to enhance his roster. They’ve just below $15 million in salary cap space and could be patient in case something big becomes available. They must be prepared on the off-chance a Connor McDavid<\/a> or an Auston Matthews<\/a> becomes available.<\/p>\n

All quiet on the Detroit Red Wings GM search, however it remains to be early<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Max Bultman of The Athletic<\/a><\/strong>: Things seem like quiet surrounding the Detroit Red Wings and their GM search. It\u2019s still early in the method, despite being in the course of the offseason. They will do a radical search and never rush it.<\/p>\n

A problem for the Wings is that Simon Edvinsson<\/a> still needs a contract, and there may be the Dylan Larkin<\/a> situation. Steve Yzerman<\/a> remains to be handling the day-to-day hockey ops role, but the following GM is the one they\u2019d prefer to make the large decisions.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s possible the following GM has a \u2018data\u2019 background, with names like Sam Ventura (Sabres), Tyler Dellow (Hurricanes), and Brett Petterson (Panthers). Shawn Horcoff<\/a> can be an internal candidate.<\/p>\n

NHL Rumors: Is the Zach Weresnki Situation in Columbus Really Put to Bed?<\/a><\/p>\n

Alex DeBrincat<\/a> has a 12 months left on his contract and is extension eligible, but that will be as much as the following GM as there may be loads of time to figure that situation out. Will the following GM want to influence Larkin to stay, or will he need to move on?<\/p>\n
