Floyd Schofield Sr. wants the matchup with Shakur Stevenson back on the table. Watching his son sit through 13 months without progress, Senior stated that the previous WBC lightweight champion can keep the belt and purse control if it guarantees the 2 meet contained in the ring.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like the Shakur fight. We\u2019ll take a pay cut. He could keep his belt. We would like the fight,\u201d said Schofield Sr. to MillCity Boxing. \u201cThey insulted us first. We got to place this all behind us. Let\u2019s go ahead and allow them to meet their match. If he don\u2019t wish to fight, just say he don\u2019t wish to fight. We understand. Beyond offering financial concessions, Senior addressed claims that his team ducked the unique date, questioning why Shakur shows no willingness to get the match back on the schedule now that the medical situation is evident.<\/p>\n

At 23 years old, Schofield stays unbeaten and highly ranked by the WBA. Sitting idle stays the important threat to his position. Losing out on the Shakur title shot cost him his biggest profession opportunity, making it vital for him to secure a top-tier opponent with every passing month.<\/p>\n
