During a recent appearance on the \u201cBusted Open Radio\u201d podcast, CM Punk spoke in regards to the feud he shall be most remembered for.<\/p>\n

He mentioned his intense rivalry with Drew McIntyre, admitting that recency bias might play a job.<\/p>\n

Punk also credited legends like Terry Funk, Harley Race, Bret Hart, and Shawn Michaels for shaping his profession with great advice through the years.<\/p>\n

On the feud he\u2019ll be most remembered for: <\/strong>\u201cI\u2019m fortunate \u2014 or unlucky, depending on what side of the coin you\u2019re on \u2014 to have been in a number of great ones. Ones that folks have actually forgotten about. Possibly some recency bias, I feel probably the hatred that I had for Drew McIntyre and in return the hatred he had for me \u2014 I feel that one will stand the test of time obviously.\u201d<\/p>\n

On who gave him the perfect profession advice: <\/strong>\u201cToo hard to narrow down. Too wide of a spectrum of a number of the more good minds in wrestling. I mean, you\u2019ve named a couple of of them there. A whole lot of them aren\u2019t with us anymore. Terry [Funk], Harley [Race], Tracy Smothers, Eddie Guerrero. After which there\u2019s those that we’re currently fortunate to still have, that even to at the present time still give me great advice. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels. These are these are guys who I can reach out to and ask an issue, whether it\u2019s something that happened within the late 90s or, \u2018Hey, I\u2019m pondering of this,\u2019 I can bounce these ideas off them and get their perspective. It\u2019d be way too hard to narrow down one specific nugget of data from the litany of legends that I\u2019ve been fortunate enough to learn from.\u201d<\/p>\n

On his reference to fans: <\/strong>\u201cIt\u2019s a mixture of each of those things. I feel initially it\u2019s the authenticity that I bring. It\u2019s being myself, but it surely\u2019s also the job. I\u2019m within the job of manipulating the emotions of the audience based on where I need them to go. Once you\u2019ve done it for this long, you develop a currency with the audience. So even when I believed it will be an incredible idea to attempt to get these people to hate me, I feel that\u2019s going to be a troublesome ask. We saw it recently with John Cena. I don\u2019t think people actually need to boo Randy [Orton]. I feel the situation\u2019s got to be right.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m fortunate to have that currency with the audience. It\u2019s just being around, being of their living rooms every Monday and Friday for X amount of years. It\u2019s going away and coming back. How do they miss me if I don\u2019t go away? It\u2019s only a profession that was crafted by a number of those good legends that we just previously talked about. I don\u2019t get here by myself, I\u2019m standing on the shoulders of giants.\u201d<\/p>\n
