Josh Barnett thinks AEW should concentrate on consolidating their shows and streamlining their efforts.
During a recent appearance on “The MMA Hour” podcast, Barnett acknowledged that wrestling is currently popular but emphasized that AEW has areas that could possibly be improved.
Barnett said, “It’s, but I believe AEW must consolidate a bit. In that — in the event that they have some certain shows that are usually not their foremost shows, take a look at the best way to construct a few of these shows. Even Zero Hour, that stuff, in ways that may be higher used perhaps, by them, but additionally don’t take a look at all the things as just, if it’s not winning yet, do away with it. I can understand that, but I would like to see those form of things for AEW so that they have these other ways which they’ll approach wrestlers, wrestling fans, they usually have a reasonably substantial roster. It might probably keep people busy, which is sweet for them.”
He continued, “And it’s just — nowadays with social media, I’m sure AEW has their reasons for why they cut certain programs, and I’m not acting as if I do know why those are, I’m just speculating. But at times, and really very often, people see anyone, ‘Oh, they cut show X out,’ they only do nothing but throw scorn and negativity and say it was all because they’re sucking or they’re this. That’s the best path to take, the best path to get someone to listen to what you say. In that sense, it’s like creating a possible backlash or negative talking point for something that isn’t necessarily done out of any of the explanations anyone comes up with.”
