Tottenham proceed to be blighted by injuries this season, with Radu Dragusin now expected to miss the remainder of the campaign attributable to a serious knee issue.
The Romanian had come on at half-time in a Europa League clash with Elfsborg last week but lasted just 20 minutes, needing to get replaced.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou said on the time that the injury looked serious.
‘Unfortunately Radu’s hurt his knee now,’ said Postecoglou. ‘I don’t have any further information but it surely didn’t look good as he was coming off so we’ll just have wait and see but it surely’s disappointing.’
The Athletic has now reported that the centre-back has injured his ACL and appears set to miss the remainder of the season in consequence.
Dragusin will undergo an operation and is prone to miss six months of motion in an enormous blow for the 23-year-old.
It’s also a setback for Spurs as they fight to enhance their dodgy Premier League form and proceed their campaigns within the Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
Dragusin has joined a protracted list of players out of motion for Spurs, with Dominic Solanke, Cristian Romero, Wilson Odobert, James Maddison, Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Timo Werner and Brennan Johnson all currently out.
Those injuries are all less serious than Dragusin’s, with all of them prone to return this month, but Tottenham have made moves within the transfer market to assist take care of the choice headaches.
Kevin Danso has been brought in from Lens, with the centre-back a right away substitute for the injured Romanian.
Spurs are also still pushing for the loan signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich, although they’ve pulled out of a move for Axel Disasi from Chelsea before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.
Tel has attracted interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea in the course of the transfer window so it would be something of a coup for Tottenham to tug off a move, because it looks like they may.
Disasi reportedly rejected a move to Spurs on loan from Stamford Bridge as he pushed for a take care of Aston Villa as an alternative, then the north London club also stepped away from negotiations.
