In your mark, get set — The Amazing Race is back and season 37 goes to be greater and higher than ever.
The upcoming season, which premieres on CBS Wednesday, March 5, has expanded to incorporate 14 teams in its race around the globe. Prior seasons featured a variety of 11 to 13 teams, which makes season 37 its biggest solid within the show’s history. Amongst the competitors are couples, friends, members of the family and more.
Because the pairs travel around the globe, they’ll visit a wide range of countries including Hong Kong, Japan, France, Portugal, and the United Arab Emirates. For the primary time within the series history, racers can even complete a leg in Bulgaria.
Along with having more contestants and visiting latest destinations, The Amazing Race is mixing things up by adding “game-changing twists in every episode” per a press release. Iconic staples just like the Fast Forward and U-Turn will return.
Nevertheless, the competition series, which is hosted by Phil Keoghan, is introducing a brand new game mechanic called the Fork within the Road which shall be introduced through the first leg in Hong Kong. The Fork within the Road will challenge players to determine which specific route they wish to take to the Pit Stop, which can ultimately create two parallel races where two teams shall be eliminated.
Like prior seasons, The Amazing Race will proceed with 90-minute episodes for season 37.
