When you blinked, you would possibly have missed the UFC debut of Quillan Salkilld.
Kicking off the early prelims of UFC 312 at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia, was a light-weight matchup between the debuting Salkilld (8-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Anshul Jubli. The fight lasted just 19 seconds after Australia’s Salkilld floored Jubli (7-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) with a crushing right hand, sending his home country’s crowd into an early frenzy.
It was an easy setup. Salkilld pawed out the left hand, then sat on the precise with full power. The punch connected and Jubli crashed to the canvas, covering up. The referee rushed in only as Jubli began to grab for Salkilld’s legs. Salkilld was already in celebration mode as Jubli kept attempting to grab his legs. The referee had to drag Jubli away and deal along with his post-fight complaints of an early stoppage.
