A fierce rivalry has resulted in an unsanctioned match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WWE Elimination Chamber: Toronto.
During this week’s episode of WWE RAW, Zayn issued a challenge to Owens for a match in Toronto, but General Manager Adam Pearce informed him he was not medically cleared to compete.
After Zayn refused to go away, Pearce granted him the match for the WWE Elimination Chamber, but with the condition that it could be an unsanctioned bout — implying there aren’t any rules and anything is permissible.
Fightful is reporting that Owens was advertised for WWE RAW last night but didn’t show up. The rationale for his absence stays unknown.
