Gervonta Davis Open To Haney Fight After Garcia Rematch

Gervonta Davis says he’s open to a fight against Devin Haney, even when he loses his rematch with Ryan Garcia. Davis wants the previous two-division world champion Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) to “redeem” himself first by performing well in his second fight with Ryan.

Haney will first take a tuneup against Jose Ramirez on May 2nd on the Ryan vs. Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero card in Recent York City.  Tank may not pay attention to the Ramirez fight that Haney has in front of him before he even gets to the rematch with Kingry.

If Haney loses each of those fights, would Tank Davis still be fascinated with fighting him? Possibly it wouldn’t matter if he’s competitive in losing those fights. Davis has run out of options at 135. Shakur Stevenson is taking nothing but easy fights against weak punchers since he was exposed by Edwin De Los Santos in 2023.

Stevenson is just in search of a payday against Tank Davis, and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is ensuring he doesn’t lose by feeding him scrubs. Shakur is only a fake. So, you possibly can’t blame Tank Davis for wanting nothing to do with that narcissistic hype job. He doesn’t deserve to satisfy with the King. As for Keyshawn Davis, he’s only a weight bully who shouldn’t even be fighting at 135. As big as he’s, he must be at middleweight.

The Weight issue

One other problem that Tank is overlooking is Haney will probably be moving as much as 147 and will probably be campaigning in that weight class. It might be asking plenty of him to return to 140 as a condition for fighting Tank. It may not be doable for Haney, but even when he does make the burden, he’s more likely to rehydrate to the 160s.

So, Tank remains to be going to be outweighed by a complete bunch. Haney would never comply with a 10-lb rehydration clause as a condition to fight Tank as Ryan foolishly did. He couldn’t go 10 lbs above the contracted weight of 136, and he looked like a dead man walking on the night of the fight.

Tank’s Stance

“I’d definitely be open to fighting Devin obviously, but he’s got to redeem himself. If he looks good in his next fight, or if the fight don’t go good, or even when he looks good against Ryan too and he don’t get the win, I feel it could still be a superb fight to have,” said Gervonta Davis to Bubba Dub when asked if he’d be fascinated with fighting Devin Haney.

“Even the buildup since we were younger and coming into the sport. It was backwards and forwards. I believe it could still be a superb fight between me and Devin,” said Tank.

Haney will probably be completely happy to listen to Tank Davis speak about wanting to fight him because he and his dad, Bill Haney, have wanted that match for a very long time.
