The sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, the 2020 motion RPG that just about destroyed the popularity of CD PROJEKT RED (CPDR) after the Polish studio rushed the sport out to players on Windows PCs, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia in December 2020, will feature what is claimed to be the “most realistic and reactive crowd system” ever seen in a video game, in keeping with a brand new job listing that CDPR has posted to its official jobs site.

Job Description (Lead Encounter Designer)

We’re in search of an experienced, passionate and talented Lead Encounter Designer to affix our Boston based Orion development team. This person will take ownership of working directly with the design director and cross-discipline design results in help formulate solutions for and help create memorable gameplay encounters that can thrill and excite our players.

Each day responsibilities

  • Work with Quest, Open World, Level Design, Environment and Gameplay teams, to design memorable combat encounters based on predefined narrative, environmental and gameplay themes.
  • Adjust predefined quests and locations, by utilising NPC setup, interactive objects, loot and environment, to create a difficult playthrough, with multiple solutions
  • Working with Level Designers and Environmental Artists, ensure level geometry serves the needs of the combat encounter.
  • Hire and construct an encounter team throughout the course of development.
  • Dedicate yourself to understanding all player verbs, allowing yourself to craft divergent experiences that cater to all available playstyles.
  • Work in close collaboration with the systems design team to create the most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game up to now.

News of Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel potentially revolutionizing crowd dynamics comes just a few weeks after CDPR rolled out Patch 2.21, a brand new update for Cyberpunk 2077 that, amongst other things, introduced support for the newest iteration of NVIDIA DLSS on PC.

“Added support for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation for GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, which boosts FPS by utilizing AI to generate as much as thrice per traditionally rendered frame – enabled with GeForce RTX 50 Series on January thirtieth,” reads a portion of CDPR’s patch notes.

“DLSS 4 also introduces faster single Frame Generation with reduced memory usage for RTX 50 and 40 Series,” the developer added. “Moreover, you’ll be able to now make a choice from the CNN model or the brand new Transformer model for DLSS Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA on all GeForce RTX graphics cards today. The brand new Transformer model enhances stability, lighting, and detail in motion.”
