The sending off means Antony might be suspended for Betis’ next match against champions Real Madrid, who trail Barcelona only on goal difference at the highest.

Since completing a short lived move from Old Trafford at Betis, Antony has racked up two goals and two assists in his 4 opening league matches for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.

The 24-year-old also found the web with an outstanding long-range strike in Betis’ 3-0 win over Gent within the Europa Conference League.

Betis’ defeat of Getafe saw Antony and Co leapfrog Mallorca and Real Sociedad within the table, with the club level on points with sixth-placed Rayo Vallecano.

‘An important thing is that I even have found myself again,’ Antony said ahead of Betis’ trip to Getafe.

‘I’m completely happy to be having fun with myself every single day. Things go well once we are well, completely happy, content… In 4 games I even have scored three goals and gave an assist. I expected it and I didn’t expect it.

‘I even have worked mentally and physically to get to this moment. I’m very completely happy about that.

‘Once I was in England I continued working mentally and physically I used to be also feeling well. I used to be preparing for this moment. Now, I’m very completely happy to be having fun with and living an incredible moment.’

The Brazil international added: ‘I wasn’t playing much, but I’ve been working hard. I needed to be completely happy with myself. The most effective version of being completely happy with myself is a very powerful thing. I played little or no in Manchester, but I’m grateful to them and likewise to the coach, who spoke to me.

‘I even have a whole lot of friends who played here and so they left me very calm in order that I could sign here. I used to be sure in my heart that coming here was the very best decision for me. I hope to proceed like this.

‘I’ve had an incredible time in Manchester too, I won two titles and I’m very grateful. But after I say that I’ve found myself here, I’m completely happy, the individuals are like us in Brazil.

‘The sun helps rather a lot. I’m very completely happy here. I get up every single day with a smile and that’s very necessary.’
