The actual reason for Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold’s alleged bust-up behind the scenes in training for Liverpool has been revealed.

The duo, arguably Liverpool’s two most significant players, appeared to clash on Monday on the club’s training centre ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League second leg last-16 clash against Paris-Saint Germain.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold needed to be pulled apart by Harvey Elliott and Ibrahima Konate, which sparked a series of rumours across social media after a web based video from Hayters TV went viral.

Alexander-Arnold looked visibly irritated during what appeared to be a heated incident, clapping his hands and gesturing towards his teammate.

It forced a response out of Salah, who approached Alexander-Arnold and pushed him before the Englishman moved back within the Egyptian’s direction.

That’s when Konate stepped in – putting his arm around Alexander-Arnold to diffuse the situation – while Elliott was also seen holding Salah back.

The alleged fall-out left Liverpool supporters concerned that Salah and Alexander-Arnold’s relationship had turned dramatically sour.

Fans can now relax, though, after the Liverpool Echo revealed that the explanation behind Salah and Alexander-Arnold’s bust-up was simply ‘light-hearted ribbing’, having discussed the viral video with sources at Anfield.

The outlet claims that Salah and Alexander-Arnold were joking around together following the training session, with the incident firmly put to bed.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold, who’re each out of contract at the top of the present season, have helped Liverpool win quite a lot of trophies together.

During their respective spells at Liverpool, the Reds have clinched the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two Carabao Cups, the Club World Cup and Super Cup.

The pair have all the time spoken incredibly highly of one another with Alexander-Arnold lauding Salah after the recent victory over Southampton.

‘He’s a game-winner for us,’ Alexander-Arnold said about Salah after Liverpool beat the Saints 3-1 within the top-flight on Saturday. ‘He’s the variety of player that you must achieve success and win this league.’

Liverpool’s superstar winger Salah, who has sparked speculation over his future on several occasions this season, has registered an incredible 243 goals and 110 assists across 390 games for the club to this point.

Reds right-back Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this term, has conjured up 22 goals and 87 assists in 348 matches having progressed through the Liverpool academy.

Salah and Alexander-Arnold are hoping to assist Liverpool get the job done against PSG at Anfield tonight (Tuesday, March 11) and reach the Champions League quarter-finals having won the primary leg 1-0 last week.
