Arsenal have expressed interest in signing ex-Manchester City winger Leroy Sane and Mikel Arteta is fully supportive of the move, in response to reports.
The Gunners are expected to sign a brand new striker this summer after struggling in that area of the pitch this season.
No Arsenal player has reached double figures this term, with injured forward Kai Havertz the club’s top goalscorer with nine within the Premier League.
There have been doubts over Havertz’s goalscoring credentials but Arsenal have naturally looked much more toothless in front of goal because the Germany international suffered a serious hamstring injury, ruling him out for the remainder of the season.
Arsenal have been linked with the likes of Alexander Isak, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen – but up front is just not the one area Arteta is keen to strengthen.

The north London side have also struggled in wide areas this season, with Bukayo Saka still out injured and the likes of Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Raheem Sterling underwhelming.
German outlet Bild say Arsenal are searching for reinforcements within the winger position and have turned to Bayern Munich’s Sane.

Sane, 29, has enjoyed five productive seasons at Bayern since leaving Manchester City in 2020, making over 200 appearances for the German giants.
The three-time Bundesliga winner continues to be an influential figure on the Allianz Arena – making 33 appearances this season in all competitions – but might be coming to the tip of his time in Munich.
Unless he signs a brand new deal in the following few months, Sane will turn out to be a free agent in the summertime, giving him the possibility to hitch one other club on a free transfer.

Arsenal have registered interest in signing Sane, in response to Bild, and imagine the German winger could be a great addition to Arteta’s squad on the Emirates Stadium.
Arteta knows Sane well, having worked with him while he was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Manchester City.
Sane enjoyed a substantial amount of success on the Etihad, lifting two Premier League titles, three League Cups and the FA Cup.

Arsenal could yet come up against Bayern Munich within the Champions League, with the Premier League and Bundesliga clubs on opposite sides of the draw.
Vincent Kompany’s Bayern booked their place within the quarter-finals with an emphatic last-16 victory over domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen, while Arsenal have all but moved into the quarters with a 7-1 first-leg thrashing over PSV.
Arsenal’s options on either flank looked relatively strong at first of the season but Saka has not played since late December attributable to a serious hamstring problem.
Martinelli has just 4 goals within the Premier League, the identical number as Trossard.
Sterling, meanwhile, has endured a miserable spell in north London, scoring only once since joining on loan from London rivals Chelsea last summer.
