MANILA, Philippines — Alyssa Solomon has withdrawn from the 2025 Korean Volleyball Federation (KOVO) Asian Quota Draft for the following V-League Season resulting from a long-standing UAAP’s rule regarding amateurism.
Sources aware of the situation revealed to Inquirer Sports that Solomon decided to drag out of the Asian Quota Draft after she was informed of the UAAP rules which were in place for 10 years.

Solomon’s situation is a primary within the UAAP volleyball since KOVO is just in its third season of drafting Asian imports. Basketball student-athletes within the UAAP only declare their intent to affix the professionals after their tournament.
The Premier Volleyball League is holding its rookie draft after the collegiate volleyball season.

One other source, who requested anonymity, bared that Solomon was given three days to reply after she was informed on Wednesday of the possible repercussions and remedies prior to National University’s game against Adamson University.
The reigning UAAP Finals MVP still played on Wednesday, pouring in 23 points to send the Lady Bulldogs to a 6-0 record after dominating the Lady Falcons, 25-21, 25-23, 25-18, at Mall of Asia Arena.

Solomon, the source said, decided to withdraw and deal with the Lady Bulldogs’ title-retention campaign.
No games of NU might be affected as Solomon is not any longer a part of the ultimate list of participants for the said draft. The KOVO Draft is scheduled to happen on April 11.
Inquirer Sports looked for NU coach Sherwin Meneses for confirmation but he has yet to reply as of posting time.
Before her withdrawal, Solomon told the reporters that she has other plans professionally except for South Korea and her focus right away is with NU’s season.
Only three Filipinos in the ladies’s KOVO Draft will try their luck with Maddie Madayag, who’s currently playing in Japan SV.League, in addition to Choco Mucho setter Mars Alba and PLDT middle blocker Majoy Baron.
Solomon and the Lady Bulldogs have a vital game on Sunday, facing the University of Santo Tomas Tigresses in a finals rematch at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
