Kaitlyn Bristowe isn’t giving up on finding The One, despite two failed engagements.
“I really like love. I actually do. I’m a sucker for it,” Bristowe, 39, said during an “I Select Me With Jennie Garth” podcast episode, released on Friday, March 14. “I do like the thought of marriage. I do like the thought of getting a family. But I don’t know if anything’s modified.”
She continued, “Sometimes I believe I want to melt up slightly bit because I do love love, but I attempt to be too tough sometimes.”
Bristowe admitted that “deep down” she’s more of a lover than anything.
“I believe I’ve at all times had the identical beliefs and thoughts and concepts of what love is,” she added. “It’s just I believe I’ve possibly gotten safer in my very own self so I can speak about it otherwise now.”
Bristowe detailed some major breakups in her life, including her two past engagements. The previous Bachelorette star left her season of the show in 2015 engaged to Shawn Booth. They split in November 2018. Bristowe moved on with Jason Tartick in 2019. He proposed in 2021 but by 2023 they’d called it quits.
Bristowe briefly explained that she and Tartick, 36, “just weren’t compatible in any respect by any means at the tip” of their relationship, which is what ultimately led to their split.
The “Off the Vine” podcast host said that going forward she plans to maintain things on the private side in the case of her love life.
“I just feel like I actually would really like to try a special approach this time. Although I type of find myself feeling guilty about that, because I do share a lot, and I do feel like that’s a part of who I’m as an open book, and sharing all the pieces, and never caring what people think,” she said. “But in the case of dating at once, I just feel like I would like to maintain it so sacred.”
As for what she’s in search of in a relationship, Bristowe said it’s “necessary” for her to search out someone who has “also done the work.”
Bristowe has been sparking romance rumors with fellow Bachelor Nation alum Zac Clark since 2024. Neither of them have publicly addressed speculation to date.
“That’s shown up in my life at once. I’m not not dating. I’ve been consistently on a date with any person,” Bristowe said. “That’s as much as people know, and it’s really like type of helping me imagine in people again. I believe that’s also my problem.”
