Bryce Mitchell accuses Jean Silva of cursing him at recent press conference ahead of UFC 314

Bryce Mitchell says he suffered greater than the ire of fans on the recent UFC 314 press conference.

UFC featherweight contender Bryce Mitchell isn’t afraid to talk his mind, for higher and for worse. Ahead of his Octagon return at UFC 314, Mitchell accused Jean Silva of attempting to realize an unfair advantage, with a bizarre twist.

Mitchell returns to the Octagon for the primary time since a slew of recent controversies stemming from hateful remarks he made during a recent podcast. After his remarks, Mitchell turned from UFC fan favorite to heel, and the buildup to his return at UFC 314 is anticipated to be volatile.

Mitchell and Silva clashed on the microphone in the course of the UFC 314 press conference earlier this month, with Silva getting the love from fans and launching heated chants towards Mitchell. After their face-to-face, Mitchell believes Silva has demonic tendencies.

Bryce Mitchell plans to ‘solid out’ Jean Silva’s demons at UFC 314

In a recent Instagram post, Mitchell accused Silva of being demonic and casting a spell on him ahead of their fight.

“Good morning y’all, I want all my Christian warriors to hope for me,” Mitchell said. “Each night for the reason that day before the press conference, I’ve had demonic dreams, legions of demons are attacking me each time I sleep and never one time have I seen any peaceful sleep since that day. These demons surround me, attempt to fight me and provoke me to anger, after which the dream will switch they usually’ll send beautiful women they usually’re attempting to get me to lust, to cheat on my life.

“Devil is using two of my weaknesses to try to reveal the evil in my very own heart, which is anger and lust,” Mitchell continued. “Nonetheless, where I’m weak, the lord is powerful. So please pray for me…he began barking like a dog and chanting ‘F— you’…the person’s demons will likely be solid out of my presence.”

Coincidentally, Silva’s nickname is ‘Lord’, an alter ego he attributes to his aggressive fighting style and approach. Silva most notably demonstrated the aggressive style in his recent finish of Melsik Baghdasaryan at UFC Seattle last month.

Silva called out Mitchell after knocking out Baghdasaryan, prompting a fast response from the controversial featherweight. Weeks later, Mitchell and Silva clashed at a UFC 314 press conference, which included barking from Silva and boos raining down upon Mitchell from fans.

Bryce Mitchell returns to the Octagon after recent controversies

Mitchell is trying to get back within the win column after a powerful finish over Kron Gracie at UFC 310 in December. He’s won two of his last three fights, including a unanimous decision victory over Dan Ige in Sept. 2023.

Silva, a former Dana White’s Contender Series graduate, returns to the cage unbeaten in his UFC tenure with recent knockout wins over Charles Jourdain and Drew Dober. He outpointed rising star Kevin Vallejos on DWCS to secure a UFC contract.

Weeks away from UFC 314, tensions are ramping up between Mitchell and Silva. We may very well be in for a wild buildup to UFC 314 and an intriguing stylistic matchup contained in the Octagon.
