Jurgen Klopp’s agent speaks out on Real Madrid links with Carlo Ancelotti set to go away | Football

Jurgen Klopp’s agent has addressed the rumours that the previous Liverpool manager could make a sensational return to the dugout with Real Madrid.

The German departed Anfield at the tip of last season after nine incredible years, having won the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, two League Cups and Club World Cup.

Following his departure, Klopp suggested that his profession as a coach was over, something that was further reinforced when he was appointed Head of Global Soccer for Red Bull.

But despite only starting the brand new job in January, there have been rumours that he’s unhappy within the role and might be tempted back into management.

The reports said that the 57-year-old would consider taking the reins at Real Madrid or the Brazil national team, with Carlo Ancelotti expected to depart the Santiago Bernabeu at the tip of the season following Real’s embarrassing Champions League exit by the hands of Arsenal.

Real’s defence of their European crown got here to an end on Wednesday night after the Gunners defeated them 2-1 in Spain and 5-1 on aggregate to advance to the semi-finals.

Ancelotti has long been linked with managing Brazil, with the South American giants poised to make yet one more approach for the Italian, which could allow Klopp to maneuver to Madrid.

Sky Germany say that there may be ‘concrete interest and enquiries about Klopp from top clubs and a number of other federations’, nevertheless his agent Marc Kosicke has looked to shut down all speculation.

‘Jurgen could be very pleased along with his recent role as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull,’ he said and has no intention of returning to coaching next season.

Upon joining Red Bull, it was said that Klopp has an exit clause in his contract that may allow him to go away if approached for the Germany national team job.

While Klopp is high on their list, it is claimed that Real’s top managerial goal is Xabi Alonso following his excellent work at Bayer Leverkusen where he achieved an invincible league and cup double in 2023/24.

The legendary Liverpool, Real and Bayern Munich midfielder was targeted by his former clubs last summer but opted to remain at Leverkusen who’re set to complete second within the Bundesliga this season.

Andoni Iraola has also been heavily linked with the Spanish giants following a powerful campaign with AFC Bournemouth within the Premier League.

Should Klopp decide to make a surprise comeback, he could reunite with Liverpool and England defender Trent Alexander-Arnold who looks poised to hitch Real on a free transfer in the summertime.
